![]() Ready for the trip of a lifetime? Pastor Andy Cook's next trip to Israel will likely come in June, 2011. Like travelers from the June, 2010 tour will tell you, this isn't the standard "bus tour" of Israel. If you're planning on taking this journey, be ready to climb some mountains, walk in the desert, explore a few caves, investigate some tunnels and in general, experience Israel the way Jesus would have known it. Watch a 10-minute-long highlight video about the 2010 trip. As soon details about the 2011 trip are released, you'll find them here. In the meantime, know that this is a hiking tour. Travelers should expect some streneous hikes, along with several moderate hikes. The heat of the Judean desert will almost certainly range between 100 and 120 degrees at the worst, though the rest of Israel has a summer very similar to what we experience in the States. Travelers also are required to memorize various passages of scripture that they'll recite on location, in a variety of locations. The benefits of working this hard on a tour of the Holy Land? You'll "learn with your feet," as the rabbis like to say, and you'll be profoundly changed by what you experience. Questions? Contact Pastor Andy via e-mail or phone (478-923-5571). |
